Finished the Team Oregon BRT today. Had an absolute blast all weekend. I'm pretty impressed with the course overall, and even though it was mandatory (At 30 yrs old I fall under the cut off for the new state law), I would have taken it even if it was optional. A lot of the stuff I've read, both on the internet, and in the "Proficient Motorcycling" books wound up making perfect sense once putting them into practical application in a controlled environment. Passed the testing with flying colors (which of course by no means makes me an expert), and now once I can afford to buy a bike- I can start my new hobby. The training area is less than a mile from my house, and the course lines are painted on and there year round. I plan on going back to that area and using it as much as I can when I finally buy a bike and get ready to hit the highways (location is at the local fairgrounds).
Anywho, it's time to get back to watching craigslist like a hawk..... Hoping another Shadow or Virago comes up in my price range....
(Taking the course did rule out the Yamaha TW200 Enduro as an option.. jeeze what an uncomfortable bike....)
