I've had stuff hit my helmet so hard I swear the face shield should have shattered. Thats why I rarely go above 50mph without it flipped down. That's just asking for a trip to the hospital.

For awhile it seemed like my bike was a squirrel magnet. Those little creatures seemed to keep throwing themselves at me and my bike. I hate those little games they play too....run part way into the road, run the other way, dart back into the road. I clipped one of them pretty good and it bloodied up my floorboard. It was a disgusting feeling. Just glad it wasn't something bigger.

So i was on my way home from work today and i was riding on one of my scenic fun roads. (no posted limit) so it should have been 55mph, I was going around 60.
Anyway this rabbit comes out of nowhere, and all i feel is a bump bump. I look in my rearveiw mirrors, and I see it on the road all pwned... I totally thought about going back and getting it and then cooking it for dinner, but I didnt.
What are the odds eh?
Hmm..

Well, I personally have a little more respect for the animals out there... Unfortunately, in these modern times, things like that are inevitable when driving a car or bike on the road, and of course it's usually unintentional and unavoidable... But I have to say that I've avoided many close calls w/ land animals in my car when I lived in PA and had to take the back roads. Obviosly it's easier to brake suddenly when you're in a car than a bike...
If I ever did hit something, I'd have a little more compassion cause that rabbit may have been someone's mother...

I love Bunny wabbitts.
In stew or Hickory smoked, Yum.
I ran over a toad in my driveway this morning. It made a real loud POP.
Kinda scared me, I thought I broke my bike til I saw what it was.

I had a bird hit me in the shoulder when I was chasing a storm out in South Dakota. I was going about 70 mph when I hit it. I always thought it'd be a hard hit, but it honestly was barely a blow to me. I looked back to see it go upwards some, then just spiral down to the ground.
