Can't lean, can't filter, not a lot of luggage space, no weather protection.

So it combines the disadvantages of cars and bikes, while having none of the advantages of either.

In the parts of the world that are civilized, such as much of Asia, Europe, the UK and parts of the US funnily enough, motorcyclist are allowed to "filter" through lines of stopped traffic instead of having to stay in the middle of a traffic jam. Takes some skill on the part of the rider and cagers who are actually aware of them and the rules of the road to be done safely. Studies have shown that allowing motorcycles to filter in such a manner actually help traffic flow and lessen road congestion and speed things up for all.

And Snakey, the true definition of a poser is anybody silly enough to spend so much time laughing at somebody elses bike that they nearly eff-up their own ride. Honestly? A true 1% (like you MUST be, right?) wouldn't waste half a minute giving a *poop* what the guy next to them is riding, and if you're so overly concerned about checking out everyone elses wheels while you're supposed to be watching traffic, maybe next time it'll be your accident stalling the line for 10 minutes. I'm not a 1%er, just a mechanic and a Harley enthusiast. If you had been in the exact same situation, you would have done the exact same thing and you know it. These people looked literally that stupid. A poser is someone who thinks their bike is better simply because they are the one riding it.

I was laughing at them because they looked stupid. They reminded me of when children wear their parents clothes and think they are indistinguishable from adults.

My V-Rod isn't the best bike on the road, it's just my favorite.

I had the impression lane splitting involves a bike going through traffic that's moving at normal speeds, but filtering is moving through traffic that's slow moving or stopped (hence the negative associations with lane splitting). I assume the meaning of the terms can vary from country to country, the way a fanny refers to, er, the front if you're in the UK, or the back if you're in the US.
