All the news agencies seem to be calling it for Obama. Going to be interesting to see if any lawsuits/recounts/attacks come out in the next few days.

Sure did. paper ballots and a sheet fed scanner. Choked on all the perfume in the building.
I need to see about absentee voting from now on.

I'm very surprised Va went to Obama two elections in a row. I thought for certain his federal spending cuts would have dampened his support in Northern Virginia, which essentially carried the state.

I thought that VA was one of those states that could go either way, but very close.

"Florida Democrat Earl K. Wood and Alabama Republican Charles Beasley won their respective elections but they will not take office.

Both men died weeks before the Nov. 6 election yet managed to beat their very much alive opponents by comfortable margins.

Wood died on Oct. 15 from natural causes at age 96, during his campaign for a 12th term as Orange County Tax Collector in Orlando, Fla.

Criticized for rarely coming into the office while collecting a $150,000 salary and $90,000 pension, Wood initially announced he would step down, only to change his mind when a longtime political foe made plans to seek the seat."

EDIT: BTW, in the process of "googling" this so I can post it here for you, I noticed that there were other incidents of dead Floridians being elected in the past. I guess this is a common thing in Florida. :banghead2:

Roughly 1/6 of all female senators were appointed to replace their dead husbands in the senate. Lots of them in the house too!

Once you're on the ballot, they can't take you off. Come on man, surely you watched the west wing?

A vote I found interesting... Puerto Rico has voted that it wants to become a state...
