Great news. The Mistral pipes arrived Friday and today they were installed... ooooh, what sweet Italian V8 sounding music! I will have to post a video of what they sound like, but man, oh, man, the bike's a real looker, goer and now the sound is amazing too. :D

Not sure if it is the lighter weight of the Mistrals or if the Mistrals added some torque and horsepower to the bike but it's a quite noticeable difference in performance and it's definately not in my mind. :revv: Or so Andrea says! (since she agrees )

Had a great ride today around Houston, it's amazing how big this city is. One hour of riding at 40-50mph and we only crossed 1/8th of the city.

Love the new pipes and the low down growl they make. The bike really is something above the 4,000 rpm mark with the new pipes, keeps egging you on to just WOT it and it really rewards you when you do.

On a side note, I do have to get the seat attended to as I would like to sit back just another 1". I priced that in when I bought the bike anyways to do it. - UPDATE: I heard back from the custom seat shop and a ball park figure is $75-125, which is quite do-able.

Ok, I am fed up with the stock horns on the bike. I had it with the texting drivers sitting unaware with a green advance light and not going till it starts to turn yellow! The stock horns are ok, but they point to the sides which is great for the drivers on the left/right side of you but no good for the doofus in front on his iPhone.

This calls for a Horn Upgrade.

Oh, man, I love how EASY it is to work on this Moto Guzzi, everything is right out in the open, easy to access, standard connectors, nothing complex. (Well, I haven't done an oil change yet but this weekend I'll let you know how that pans out).

Anyways, I had a Freeway Blaster horn from years and years ago (I think I bought it for my Seca in 2005) but never used it. I have been wanting to put it on one of my motorcycles and I went to go see if it would fit/work on the Moto Guzzi. 5 min job, fit, worked, easy as pie! Done and dusted.

The only issue was the Moto Guzzi came with 2 horns! ARGH. I needed another one. Lucky, NAPA still sells them! 15 min ride and I have another horn (Low tone to go with the High tone I have on right now). I installed the first one and let me say, DO NOT HONK in the garage! Whew that's LOUD. I can't imagine what 2 of these will sound like! LOUD+?

Now, these bad boys are 132db each!

HONK! HONK! Baby!
