Ugly little thing. Front end looks alright, but it all comes apart after the seat. That sorta 'batwing' profile created by the upsweep of the saddle into the pillion -- it just looks off to me. And the whole swing arm just looks cluttered to me.
Uncool.

Little??? LOL! You ever stood next to one of these things in real life?

But I agree on your rating - it's too fat (wide), too heavy, and ridiculously overpowered - I don't **need** to cruise at 150mph, and there's no place in the Northeast US to do so safely. Uncool

We each have our preferences... this is too heavy and awkward for me.

You would be surprised just how nimble these big ST's can be and how light on the controls they are. True that they will never be as agile as a 100% pure race bike, but they come close and in the case of some models, very very close. Consider if you will that many Police and Highway Patrol forces around the world have adopted big ST's for both highway and city policing work. And in the UK, the NHS Ambulance service uses Honda Paneuropean aka in N.A. as the Honda ST for their first responders, even in the congested maze that is London. You wouldn't adopt a bike for such work unless it was nimble, agile and able to cut through traffic.

Thats true..

But I have trouble with my bike If I need to pick it up and its lighter.
I can't protect my back on a lounge chair like this by flexing my legs.
Back Breakers (sport bikes) hurt to ride after 10-15 minutes..... I've
tried

I don't vote or comment normally on these styles because they just
don't 'fit' me.

There definately will be a new bike on Friday to vote on, but as next Friday's bike ends in 2013 (December 28th to January 4th) I'm counting it as the 1st 2013 Cool Wall Bike. :D

I had to split the hair somewhere. :starwars:

I voted: Awesome.

That was a hard decision as I was considering a Cool vote. But this is really a very purpose built motorcycle (much like the Gold Wing) for long distance touring and if I had to cruise the length of Canada or go across the USA this bike would be one of the top choices in my book. But around town, no thanks, as this bike is just too overbuilt for that purpose. There are much better around town and day trip bikes out there to be lugging around a near 700lb big bike with a ZX14 engine IMO. So it would be added to the collection but I can't see the Connie14 as being my only bike.

I know in the UK they use a the Honda ST, but it's really not as wide as this Connie14. UK city riders (police even more so) are some of the best riders for knowing the length/width of their bikes and getting in and out of very tight spots the Connie14 would be just too big over there IMO other than on a M series Motorway.

Still, an awesome vote for an awesome bike, but with limited purpose.

Firstly, WOW 100 votes for this model - sweet!

I voted cool. This is not my favourite bike (too bike for me, too weird looking with all its tiger claw looking details) but I still give it a cool. I do love my Kawasaki's and this one is really not that bad, just not an awesome for me. I do like that it is a bike that knows what it is and sticks to it's whole reason of being. The fact that it's been around so long also says something about its popularity.
