Last year, I had purchased a 2000 Honda Shadow. A 2000 with only 6,500 miles on it. I was sure that the odometer must have been wrong. I asked the salesman, is this right, or is it possible that it's turned over already? He said that a lot of folks just ride their bikes out to the bar to meet friends. WHY?! What a waste of machinery.

It's difficult for me and Scan to fit in our rides. Our kids are young, so we usually have to take turns getting out on our bikes. Still, we manage to spend time with each other, the kids, jobs, and the bikes. Of course, my house is a mess these days! :? At least I'm happy!

The '78 CX500 I bought three years ago only had 9,000 miles on the odometer.

And I feel your pain with the kids...I have a 5, 6, and 8 year old that I am raising alone...so riding isn't always possible. That's why I have put over 5,000 miles on my brand new truck in just seven weeks!

I insured my bike in March this year, and took the insurance off of my 240SX. If I only count the 29 mile round trip to and from work for six months, I'm well over 3500 miles so far this year. Now, if you start to include all the rides I've taken with blues, well I think I've lost track already... lol. Actually, with the riding season drawing near its mid-point I think I'm running close to 5000 miles

Unfortunately, probably only about half of mine are "pleasure miles" - I only have the bike for transport, so a lot of that is just going to work and back, or doing the shopping....

Guess I better slow down... Put 1000 miles on my bike in 3 weeks. Course I've been using it for the work commute too but the weekends are loose and fancy free.
