It's always worth a shot and I applaud you for doing your credit a favor and savin g the money BEFORE you buy the bike. I just think you'll have to save a bit more for a brand new one. I'd always go used, but that's just me. Do you guys have Craigslist.com or cycle trader where you live? In Seattle there's just tons of almost new bikes being sold by people with buyer's remorse or who bought the wrong bike and you can save tons of cash by bailing them out.

Yeah i've been eyeing cycletrader for a while about it there are a bunch for like 3500 or less, its just that the whole crankshaft failure thing has me spooked, as i cant afford that kind of repair... but if i find one in good condition it shouldnt happen...

yeah most buisnesses pay about 2 percent to a finance company to use there finanacing...thats usually all youll save with cash...unless its under the table to pay bills...
thats a sweet bike.
