I had an air cooled engine and never had any issues whatsoever. Maybe Florida summers are just so hot.

It get's pretty warm here in Utah too, most summers we can count on entire weeks with temps in the 90s, and we've had more than 10 consecutive days with temps above 100 before.

When we rode to Vegas, Carrie and I did more than five miles stop-and-go downtown traffic with the temperature at a steady 105. I just wouldn't trust air cooling to cope with that sort of situation. Give me modern technology. (-:
