Considering the "Pan Weave" was reported to occur at speeds around 180kmh, though, I'm wondering what just type of riding you're planning to do? :?

Anyway, aside from the ST, there must be something suitable to be found in your neck of the woods...?
Actually, Wikipedia is just one source, there are more then a few online articles by British and European newpapers and riding mags on the subject, plus I belong to a British riding board and the subject was discussed in great detail, one of the members reported experiencing the problem.

While I rarely hit 180 KPH on the way to work, I generally cruised on the Connie between 140 and 160 KPH, (how I don't have any tickets is beyond me) and the Pan Weave happened at 180 under certain load conditions....given my fat arse and belly, I might exceed those load conditions at a slower speed....so I am a wee bit leery about the bike.

Found a tasty 2000 Triumph Trophy 1200 in the Portland area for USD2700.

27K miles, plenty of life left in that bad boy yet!

If you end up getting it, there is a Yahoo Group for legacy Trophys that you'll want to join. It's the biggest collection of Trophy knowledge going on the 'net (even bigger than Triumphrat). I can send you the URL if you like.
