South on 93 to Las Vegas was also a blast (excluding running out of gas between Wells and Ely (McGill)
And how did you get out of that one?
I was lucky enough that I coasted into the only gas station in town, after spending the 40 miles on my reserve laying as flat against my tank as I could manage.

I was in the mountains and bike went on reserve.......I slowed down A LOT....and then fortunately.....had a long downhill run before the exit of the next town....I'm sure I got there on fumes.

Worst case scenario....I'd have to hitchhike....

Well I'm glad you made it. I've been close but not that close.

Thanks. I learned something that day.

The bike was air cooled....I did not know that higher elevation and really cold temperatures made the bike use more gas...otherwise I could have stopped before getting on the Coquihalla.

Live and learn. :)

That's one reason why it's good to keep some sort of fitness....in case you have to walk a distance to get fuel or help.

Head or cross winds will eat your gas mileage quickly.

I've been there, there's no place to go.
