Not to offend but I think that the info being attacked and savataged is a conspiracy and that there was not enough room to store all the posts and a clean slate in the memory banks was needed for the survival of the total motorcyle forums. In any case I'm a bit excited as this is a new start and I'm just excited for some reason. Please don't be offended by this post - it was just on my mind in my working memory/fontal lobe/whatever and I type what is on my mind.

Hi Noel,

I also hope not to offend... As the wife of Mike (TotalMotorcycle), I think I have the ranking to respond to this and say that what you have suggested is not correct. We have a very strong relationship with our web hoster and have continued to BUY hard drive & bandwidth to keep up with the demand. Even though we have to spend lots of $$$ every month to build our resources, the site still costs nothing for you to use and enjoy.

Last night we returned to the computer after dinner to find the horrible situation. We know for a fact that it was hackers that did this, because of the changes that occurred. Not only did they delete all the posts and forums, but they also uploaded a different version of the phpBB software. This would not have been at all possible if the site just got too big.

I hope this settles any doubt. Please continue to enjoy the community as we all work hard to build it up again. And thanks Noel for returning, even after such a long absence!! That proves to us that we have a community worth being a part of.

Andrea :)

Noel - You are totally correct in standing up and saying that this is a GREAT opportunity for rebirth, rebuilding and therefore better, newer buildings and a newer total motorcyle forum. :D

For the first time since last night, you have made me SMILE. :D

Thank you very very much.

Now I'm back to getting the photo galleries up again...

Mike.

Doh, I was worried this was what happened. There has been a rash of attacks on boards running this software (another forum I frequent was attacked no less than twice).

Looks like it's time to break out with some good ol' fashioned mass-postings.

Yeah, my board was attacked also. I was able to restore the database from backups and fix all the holes.

I have an .htaccess file that you might be interested in. It disallows the current hacking commands so that any current attacks are stopped before they are started. PM me if interested.

I havnt been over here ofr a bit and this place has grown! 8)

I was a new member just before the site was hacked, and I just got the email letting me know what happened!
Just to let you know, I am here, and I am ready to help do my part in posting to rebuild!

Stupid hackers... if they spent their time and brains on constructive things they would probably be millionaires!
