If I'm in a 35 MPH zone or slower I try to stay AT the speed limit. From a 40 MPH zone to 50 MPH zone I will generally try to stay no more than 5 MPH over. Once at the 50 MPH and up I will do near 10 MPH over and willing to go even higher in little bursts depending on visability and knowledge of the road I'm on at the time.

I will ride just under the high speed on the freeway - meaning, if there are cars traveling 85 in a 65 on the freeway I will ride a good distance behind them and use them as my radar detectors. His brake lights are a very reliable signal. Very few people on the Ohio freeways or Michigan freeways travel at or near the speed limit and at least 10 over. It is usually unsafe to ride at or near the speed limit there.

That's about right for me too. On the rural roads (55 limit) I'm usually going 70 to 75, but that's when there's nobody around.
That's me too. Except when I'm passing semi-trailers on the interstate. Then I tend to let it rip..I don't like to stay beside those babies any longer than I have too.. Last weekend I was passing a double and as I went to pull back in front, noticed I was up to 95 ! couldn't believe it.

Speed limit on major highways up here is 100km/hr. I usually ride the way I drive (and the way most others drive) -- 120-140km/hr. In the past, I used to just rip it up; the fastest I've gone is 230km/hr (sustained); though I'm sure others have gone much faster.

I've kind of outgrown that kind of speed though -- more into lesiurely cruising now.

When travelling I like to run about 75-80 mph on the Interstates. Pretty safe at those speeds in most states, don't want to leave my vacation funds with some local JP. Everday riding I run 5-10 over, except less in school zones.

When going out to play it's different, can crank it up a bit more as required. I can think of a few times I have gone double the speed limit when out playing. I never cross over double yellow lines unless it's absolutely necessary.

Depends entirely where i'm riding, what mood i'm in, conditions etc. I'd say around 5-10mph over in most areas, occasional bursts of silly speed, sometimes just potter about at 5-10mph below the limits...
Don't give up.

Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.

If you never give up, you can never truly fail.

uselly about 10 MPH over, depending on the skill level required to go that fast (Curves and such).

and my bike will go about 120 (I'm told), when I get my license, I'll get a job and save up for a Ticket, put it in the bank and see if it'll go that fast on the interstate.

I try to stay right around the Speed Limit in congested areas. I have opened it up out on the rural highways though when no-one else is around.

The most I've ever exceeded the limit by is about 125 over.

I've nerver had a problem sticking to speed limits and especially now there are more and more speed cameras and camera vans around.

Depends on the conditions of the road and the speed limit (and the weather).

In 30, and 40 mph zones located in a built up area I stay close to the limit. If it is not built up, then I'd generally do up to 40 or 50, especially if I know the road and am sure there are no potential hazards I couldn't cope with.

In a 50mph zone it depends on the speed cameras! There are often some. On a motorway I'd ignore a 50mph sign depending on the traffic conditions. (Most of the rest of the traffic ignores them anyway).

In an unrestricted area, I feel kinda unrestricted. The speed I'll ride will depends on the conditions of the road and the mood I'm in.

Voted for 15 over since most of my time is spent on the interstate. In neigborhoods I generally ride 5-10 UNDER the limit due to numerous driveways and small children.
