Hey folks...

I just got back from a short trip to the coast. Visiting family-in-law in Chilliwach, Abbotsford and went into Vancouver for a day. First time I've been out there. Very nice, could do without the rain, even though it was mostly pretty good when I was there, but cool place. Great roads for riding too, shame about all the traffic on them. At least people out there know how to drive, Alberta drivers suck compared to your drivers. :?

But I noticed a huge lack of bikes on the road. Like I said, the weather was mostly dry in the day, but I saw very few motorcycles. And we toured around alot. The wife grew up there and took me around all her old hell raising grounds..... where are all the bikes? I'm looking at all the roads and stuff and just jonesin' to try them on a bike..... and I see about 6 Harleys, 4 sportbikes and maybe 5 various UJM's all weekend.

I seen more bikes in Edmonton as I drove through it yesterday on my way home.

Is this normal for you folks?

Absolutely, I love to ride that part of the country. I usually use the toad rock motorcycle camp ground as my base and tour from there.

Well I see how hardy I am when I get to Van next week. Hoping the pass isnt going to be too bad.

Can't speak for the pass but the long range for Victoria is for above normal temps except for the 25th which they have us at "normal". Vancouver won't differ much.

I just have to ask...

Why do you hate Victoria??
The traffic, what else? I think we have more idiots per square yard of road then anywhere else in Canada. I just love those people in the left turn lane that suddenly decide to make a right turn instead and without warning, cut across in front of two lanes of traffic. What truely amazes me is for the number of times I have seen that stunt pulled, I have yet to see a single one of them get hit. Unbelievable is all I can say. Sunday is the absolute worse. It must be the day that all the senior citizens decide they have to go for a slow tour around town to make sure nothing has changed from last week. Ya I know, I'm considered a Senior Citizen, but I don't drive around on Sunday "lessen I really has to"

no lack here

Next time you are out this, pop over to Vancouver Island, you'll see a lot more bikes.

AMEN! I see that exact thing all the time too. I think there was a song on The Q a while back, from their "All Bad Band" , it was about the bad senior drivers in town. It came out around the time there was a whole string of "mistook the gas pedal for brake pedal" crashes, remember that? In the song they sing "..why the hell should I signal, I've been turnin' left here for 30 years!?!" haha! Best line in a song ever, especially about Victoira drivers.

You think traffic is bad in Victoria? When you go for a ride here in Vancouver, the first thing to do is leave town.

I agree with ya Blues. Not a place for those with a weak heart. Decidedly worse than Victoria. As Much as I dislike Victoria, I dislike Vancouver far more.

The Pass was clear and beautiful when I went through on April 26th. It was a beautiful ride from Calgary to Surrey.
