It still comes down to someone else thinking they know what's best for others. i'm glad I am as old as i am. some of you younger people are going to have a good time fighting for your rights in the future.

Doesn't suprise me that sweden would try a stunt like that. It has to be the most PC country in the entire world. I would certainly not want to live there, first of all its socialist, second of all anything that is not PC is illegal including virtually ALL religous practice (I know many are not religous, myself included, but I still think that freedom of religon is very important).

And we wonder why swedish cages are a trial lawyers worst enemy (safe cages dont make lawyers money).

While all(well, many) the Americans are scoffing at us socialist countries, they are ignoring the sudo-dictatorship in thier own front yard.

As has been mentioned, the Kalifornia Kommunist Kommunity is made to first move to ban motorcycles for good. This Riverside County bylaw to forbid riding ANY motorcycle being ridden on your own, private land is the sharp end of the wedge. If it is left to stand, the next move will be ATV's on your own land(already written into the by-law) and then it will be extended to loud streetbikes. Then to all bikes period. I'd say 'watch and see', but if that happens it will be too late. Kalifornia has the power to set policy for all of North America. The C.A.R.B. laws ring any bells? Thank Kali for that. Leaded gas? Kali don't like, no more leaded fuel. They set the laws, the American Gov passes them and all of N.A has to fall in line or be shutout and ignored by the rest of the continent.

Time to join the AMA and back them in thier fight to protect the rights of all riders everywhere. This is going to get alot worse and waiting to start fighting back for your rights will only make thier task easier. They will say it's for your own good and the majority of the voting public will agree. Boom, bikers are F****d.

This IS going to get ugly. The time to start fighting back is now.

dr_bar, that story made me happy. I remember looking at motorcycles in awe when I was little.

As far as bikes being banned for safety??? Wouldn't it be better to ban everything BUT motorcycles?

From our piont of view, your right. But there ain't enough of us to even slow the law makers down one iota. And in Kalifornia, they are going to push the noise issue as the #1 reason for bikes to be illegal. All them tree huggers will fall all over themselves to protect thier 'soundscape' from us dirty, scary bikers.

That's "procreating" insane. All I can say is I will ride. I'll fight it in court if I have to.

I'd like to see them come onto my (well, step-dad's) property while i'm on my own bike and tell me to get off. they'll get the bird and have to chase me down and beat me sensless to get me off it. They'd eventually have to stop me and call in the VT authorities, cause i'd just go north.

They, meaning the closest authoritative agent of the government, would probably send you a written notice of violation, prior to an actual visit. Then, they would visit you on the property in question, confiscate your bike, and place you behind bars at which time you would hire a lawyer to get out of jail.
If you go north,[forgot to check where your home is], you will have to provide all kinds of income and asset verification to get into Canada [Dean correct me on this] and then pray for some amnesty if you come back to the US.
This whole thing is sounding more like Viet Nam deja vu. Maybe it's time to go buy that Bushmaster and defend the homestead.

It's all moot - the "ban" was a bunch of bunk.
