Now that WOULD be a nice idea - a regular riding group that liked to ride slow and enjoy the scenery. Mmmm. And pigs will fly. Actually, I'm sure they must exist somewhere, it's just that I've never found one.

I've just ridden 200 miles in a group through what I take to be stunning scenery, but I can hardly remember any of it.

Lol, a ride like that and my "O Ring" would be bleeding.

I've never officially rode, riden? in a group except this one time when I inadvertantly found myself at the front of a group of about 10-15 Harley's.

That happened to me shortly after I got my bike. I'd only been riding for about a month. I was going down the road minding my own business doing about the speed limit. All the sudden this Harley louder than a fighter jet passed me on the right in the same lane. I'm a jumpy person by nature and he nearly scared me right off the other side of my bike. Once I got my bearings back I looked in my mirror and there were about 20 Harleys behind me. Here I am, a noob on an F4i not knowing what to do at all. So I just stayed at the same pace I was at and after about two miles the Harley in front of me fell back into his group.

Now that I think about it, that was probably an invitation to ride with them, but who knows. I find it kind of funny that 20 Harleys can sneak up behind me like that.

That sounds like my kind of ride actually. Lots of performance folks around here, but I'm definitely not one of them. I just like riding and looking around. I can get around town faster in my bike than my car, but once I hit the highway that's no longer true. 45-60 mph is just fine with me - maybe I'll change my mind on a bigger bike or with a windshield.

but yeah we ride ever friday night....some times we race down the main drag but mostly were out in the country just chillin in the cool night air...riding slow...getting lost...but some times we wail on the twisties.

Looking for riding bud's? Try these people. It don't matter at all what you ride, just that you do. http://www.southerncruisers.net/ They have chapters just about everywhere. Find where and when they meet and just go join with them. Take the initiative and introduce yourself. They are great people out here on Vancouver island, I have to assume it to be the same all over.

Oh ya. No dues, no meetings, no obligations. Where ya gonna find it any better then that?

The spontaneous ride with a miss-matched group of bikes can sometimes be the best ride. The riders, afterall aren't at all miss-matched.

I went for a short jaunt Yesterday with an eclectic group of bikes. There was my 1984 Yamaha FJ 600, a 2005 BMW R 1200 GS, a 2002 Suzuki DL 1000 V-Strom, a 1984 Honda XL 250 R and a 1999 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic. We all had a great time, and enjoyed some nice backroads devoid of traffic.

Those who ride simply for the love of the ride will never care what bike you are on. Just mount up and go!

Do you think that if you did join in uninvited that the other motorcyclists would get cranky? I'd like to think not.

I have joined up to other riders many times & had no probs, I'd like to think motorcyclists are made of more substance, than to throw a hissy fit if a stranger joined in on a ride.

Well, I only have one friend who owns a bike..Im a little skeptical of riding with him, as he likes to go rather quickly. But when you only have one person to go with, you over look things like that. and he did say hed take it easy.

Good riding group? me on my 84 Seca 400 and him on his 2004 Yamaha R1... should be interesting.

We have one local dealership that opens it's doors once month and provides coffee and muffins. Guys just show up and toss a few ideas around as to where to go and then we just go. Quick guys up front slower guys behind and the quick guys wait for the slower guys at junctions and so on. nobody gets lost, everybody gets there and we all end up meeting new people every time we go. The group is getting bigger all the time. Couple of rides ago we had over 60 bikes just show up and 20 of those had pillions.

i ride my seca witha ducati monster and a sv650...as long as they are not going over 100 i can keep up...
