39 and turn 40 in November. I have to get a Harley then right?
GS Jack. I also just wanted to say kudos to you for the whole computer thing. Do you have a technical background? I know it's not rocket science but a lot of folks your age are either intimidated by computers or just not interested. And here you are posting pics and links like a 15 year old. If you don't mind me asking, why do you think you took to computers and the internet when so many of your generation haven't? My mom is 83 this year and she worked in offices literally for 63 years - just retired two years ago at 81... and she won't touch one - nor will most people I know in that age group.
To take it a little further...I know you aren't living in one and you don't seem like you ever will, but I've spent a fair amount of time visiting in different nursing homes. One thing that always strikes me is that a lot of the folks there just seem so bored. I've read many studies about dementia and alzheimers and they all degree that intense concentration like reading, crossword puzzles, internet research, etc. all help keep people sharp. It just seems to me that the internet would be a great resource for retired people who can't get around like they used to - a way to keep in touch with folks and be involved with communities that didn't require your physical presence. But so many just don't seem interested. So, what's the secret? Forgive me if I'm bugging you. But I'm gonna be 76 in not so many years... and I want to be riding my bike and surfing the web when I get there
