Just out of curiosity, Putput, did the dealer tell you what was wrong with the clutch that they pulled out? Bad plates, springs, etc...?

the mechanic replaced everything ,totaly ,the mechanic wouldnt use any of the old parts because he wasnt sure what was causing the slip ,he said it could have been a dry assembly .it was a very slight slippage I only noticed it when I hit a steep hill ,yamaha 100% was good for it and it was fixed without a hitch.

My sister bought a 06 1100 V-Star last fall, as the season was over she never got to ride it. and the dealer is storing it until the spring.
I've been trying to keep abreast of any issues for her and appreach the update.
That being said how are you enjoying it otherwise?
I'm going to guess that the 2006 models of V-Stars have had the spline issue remedied.
However, just so you know, for a while there, the factory wasn't greasing the splines properly on some 1100's and 650's. My bike is a 2004 and it had to be taken in for constant squeaking in the final drive. Turned out the splines weren't greased properly.
It's probably ok now, but if it starts squeaking, you will know what to look for.

Hey, putput, Long time no see. Good to hear you got out and did a lot of riding.
Make sure you check in more often when the riding season starts up again. Some of us are out in the valley quite frequently for rides.
