looks like the guy in that video started the bike up in gear with the throttle wide open instead of closed.

Also looks like that bike had been dropped a bunch of times before

he didnt have the gas wide open until he went to take off. it was in gear yes he was told it was in gear. he just popped the clutch and got a fist full of throttle.

he was in 2nd gear too...

this wouldnt happen on an ex500 mind you, just an example though of what a new rider can do on the wrong bike....

It doesn't matter what size bike it was for it to do that. My teenage daughter got her first taste of riding on a tiny RM80 dirtbike and as soon as she took off she did exactly the same thing. A fist full of throttle and dumping the clutch will have you on your backside every time unless you had the forethought to install a wheelie bar.

theres more to it than what size motor. weight, gearing, ride position etc.

ive seen people dump the clutch on an ex500 and you take off like a rocket you have more a risk hitting something in front of you than flipping it over i think at least.

thanks for clarifying that I understood that but just thought that that thing totally shot off like 50 feet... Now back on topic what are some other good beginner bikes in all class's mostly sport bike though for thats my main interest. Although i realy like the sv650 but would this be too big? Are there any other sports out there? I just need some guidiance please.

Why do all teens want a croch rocket?? Why not get a 500cc or bigger dirtbike and make it a dual sport? They are fast enough and you can do two things with one bike. Just a suggestion.
