You know that thing where you switch the fuel from "on" to "reserve" when you're almost outta gas? That's it.

Well,youguys nailed it!
I went to the shop this afternoon and found where the vac line was broken and put it back, then also partially covered the carbs(my rubber boots wern't on the bike when I got it).Well, guess what? The bike will start with no coaxing, just touch the switch and the bike comes to life.Well, atleast I cleaned the carbs anyway, that can't be bad to do,so I don't count the first weeks of having the bike a waste.I'm learning, and that kicks "O Ring".
Anyway, thanks guys,I got to RIDE THE BIKE TODAY because of ya'll!

Congrats!

Riding it must feel even better since you got it running yourself. Have fun on your XJ, and keep posting. By the way, you have any pics of it?

You don't want to see it right now.
As soon as I got it I tore it down to design it like I want it.
I have a harley seat, two different sets of handles,a rear Harley fender, ape hangers, etc on the way.
I'm doing a 50's hot rod type thing with it.
Satin black parts, the tank has been bondo'd where the yamaha tag was and it's getting 50's style graphics in white and red.
I'm getting old school tires with white walls.
Goin' all out,I just bought a house in Atlanta,so it'll be a few weeks before I get much farther,BUT at the new house I have a huge garrage with a perfect place to work on a couple of bikes.

Anyway,I'll post pice the minute it's done and ready!
thanks again!
