As for the bike buying I can whole-heartedly recommend what I did. I simply went onto my local craiglist site and basically posted a want ad. I said the desired type of bike, displacement, age, and price and within days I had tons of people emailing me with pictures of their bikes. I ended up looking at several and settled in on the one I fell in love with...

Let me recommend the Motorcycle Safety Course, I just took it this weekend.

I thought i was being smart and doing bike shopping and talking to people, but when I sat on my prospecitve bike I got nervous and decided to take the course first. I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW GALD I AM. Personnaly, I think it is crazy they can give you a motorcycle license without taking the class. No it does not teach you everything, but it certainly gives you great basics to start off with. Just my two sents worth.

Its always good to get some riding time under your belt and then get the bike of your dreams. I would bet that you will enjoy it more...
