took the shadow out for a quick 15 mile ride tonight. it is 35* F and i top it out at 98 mph. Thats a cruiser for you. These things are just too safe  lol. My 900 topped out at about 115 mph, but i only saw 105 to 110 or so. I can't even imagine 175 :D

sweet. If the bike is not covered, insurance is cheap as heck. An R6 has insurance at 500 dollars a year for me  if i don't cover the bike, just me and my surroundings, and i think that is what plpd is in michigan. i am going to check with my insurance agency on this. If this is true, when i get the shadow paid off i am going to sell it and put the 5 grand or whatever i get for it with what i have saved and buy a streetfighter. probably not an R6 but something i thought i would never be able to get. maybe a fazer 600. anyways that would be next summer. guess I better take all of my 800 mile trips this summer because that would be way to uncomfortable on a cafe bike.

As someone mentioned about the financed bikes needing full coverage, this is not always true. A bike financed through Suzuki's credit card right now doesn't have to be under full coverage. I'm sure there's others like this too. Only thing is if you total whatever you get, your SOL. Even a drop at while stopped will damage a fairing bad. You would do so at your own risk.

does your insurance know you dont hold the title, as far as i knew it was policy to make you have full coverage if you dont hold the title. i would check with your isurance company to be sure.

but i guess some states can be different, i dont think i would want a big lean on a bike thats not insured, have you calculated how much the pay off will be if you wreck the bike. i had a loan on a bike and it was totaled, the pay off pretty much doubled to get the loan taken care of(insurance covered it) other wise i was looking at 16,000$ debt with no bike to show for it.

I currently have the full coverage, I'm just saying that in the agreement it says that you do not need it. On any Suzuki model up to $13,500. This is through the Household Bank Suzuki Credit Card.

Actually, here's a website from a dealership of their current financing offers, and tells on the far right about coverages needed.

http://www.koups.com/sales/finance_offers.htm#SUZUKI NEW

I was just trying to point out that not always do you need it, not saying you don't.

i wouldnt go by that website, it may be right but thats just not the wording i would trust "No full coverage insurance under $10,000." it doesnt say its not Needed... call me paranoid, but ive delt with household and they are not the easiest place to deal with hah(took me 5 months to handle something that should of taken 5 minutes) all insurance companys ive delt with will simply not cover you unless you take full coverage if you have a lean on the title.

the only thing i can think is they are getting around this by claiming its a credit card and not a lean on a title.

That's exactly what I'm thinking they're doing. But, like I said I didn't base this off of the website, was just showing something else saying this. And once again not condoning this.

going to suck to be the kid that goes and buys a brand new bike on that system then totals it with no full coverage... oh well thanks for the info though ;) i always like knowing more about insurance companys and how they take our money at every chance

I just paid my Ins. for the year yesterday. Here in Alberta my 1984 VF1000F Interceptor cost me $186 for liability only. The full coverage total came to $465.20. Alberta has the cheapest Ins. as far as I know. I feel bad for the rest of you who are having your bank accounts drained by Ins. companies. Many people from outside Alberta have po boxes and are licensed here but live in another province to get our cheap rates.

Another way to beat the Ins. companies is to do what my friend did. He owns a 883 Sportster and had the 1200 kit put into it. As far as the Ins. knows, it's still a 883. The same could be done to many bikes out there.
