Actually a good 4WD quad with decent tires should be able to take a muddy slope of / this angle.

I would think that a KLR would be one of the easier bikes to find an AK. In a place like that it would be hard to imagine dual sports not being popular.

I second the recommendation on the KLR, cheap to buy, simple to fix, hard to break, will go just about anywhere, and a huge aftermarket. Plus dual sports are better in the twisties than you think, and the bikes simplicity means your less likely to have to try to find parts in your part of AK. With lights, turn signals, mirrors, and plates/insurance the cops cant touch you on street legality, and yes the KLR is fully street legal.

hey! i saw a KLR650 today! i remember thinking 'thats got the ugliest faring ever, but it would look soo cool as a naked bike'.

it was at a gas station, parked for the night. obviosly well loved, the fairing was so muddy...

so now i realy have to find the guy/girl that has that bike and ask them some questions about it. it looks like a great bike.

:LOL2: i found this little bit while looking at an faq. http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html#generalinformation

How do I respond when accosted by anti-accessers?
Harry from SC relates this story: "...Afew years ago I was riding a trail around Colorado Springs. I pulled over and stopped as I came apon two young lady hikers. One screamed, "You should be on the road!" and I said, "You should be in the kitchen!" I've still got the helmet with the big dent in it where the rock bounced off."

thought that was funny as hell, though no offence is intended to our female viewers (gata cover all your angles or they murder you in your sleep you know...)
