At least the custom seat people make a seat for the Kawi. I can't think of money better spent than on a good seat. The seat on my old heap was whined about as being vinyl-covered granite back in '83 when the bike was new, and it hasn't softened up yet. Further, as the years pile up on our own bodies, things begin to be more sensitive and pain more frequent, so suck it up, tobe, and keep on riding. I do, and I'm 11 years older than you.

Man o man, the party just gets better and better...
No modern bike should have to warm up for 10 to 15 minutes. Period. And having to pull out the choke while you're turning a corner?! This not only sounds dangerous to your ride, but it shouldn't be necessary. If you feel that the bike is indeed a "lemon", there are lemon laws for motorcycles as well as for cars. The thing is... you need to work with a repair technician and have documentation to the fact that their repairs/adjustments did not solve the problem. This is a page for the Ohio Lemon Laws - maybe the information there might help you.
http://www.ohiolemonlaw.com/index.html If the dealer won't help you, document it, and go to a different dealer. If Kawasaki won't help you, then get a lawyer. I'm not sure if the idle issue is a condition of a "lemon" or if you just have a crappy dealership in your area who can't get the bike adjusted appropriately.
As far as the seat goes, not many stock seats from any manufacturer are very comfortable - I suppose that would be why the aftermarket seat industry is so big. But there are ways to check out these issues before you buy a bike - user reviews are a good way to go. I knew well before I bought my bike that the seat might end up being an issue, but I loved the rest of what I learned about the bike, so I didn't really care about the seat issue. So far the seat has been okay for me, but that's just me.
Try to separate out the issues. If you're being neglected as far as getting the basic mechanics of your bike tweaked, then start pursuing a real "lemon" case for yourself. But bike seat comfort really isn't a "you owe me" sort of issue. Hope it all works out for you.
Cheers,
Loonette

I have yet to sit on a all-day-or even 2-hour-comfortable stock seat. A Corbin has always been the first accessory on the list. I'd have one now if they made one for my bike.

Isn't the stock seat the reason for the small gas tanks and worse mileage on bikes with stock seats? Designed to be ridden for 3/4 of one tank of gas..stop...refuel walk around...do it again. Maybe it's a road quality issue, too! Oh...I'd ride it if it had a brick for a seat, but that's just me. I just wish I had 7000 dollars to spend on a motorcycle, or could justify the loan.

ZooTech not rude siting and long rides are two diffrent stories. Yes I know just about all the seats today suck, so why is that? But I see some bike makers are offering up grades now.As to the choke and back firing it was a poor dealer thing. Fixed by a all around bike shop runs like a a a young smoooth girls butt. Hay TechBMW I hate those darn wire wheels what a pain to clean, I know what if I spray them with PAM? Would that work on the front dirty rotor to?
Hay what can I say I am never happy, hell I airbrush and half of what I make goes in the garbage. In eighteen years I have replaced the fence in my yard 4 times because I did not like the way they looked. HayI still have the same woman for the last 24 years, at 25 don't we get to replace them? I mean the seat on this one is low and to soft now.
New Suzuki m109r sharp bike Honda VTX 1800 yea maybe one of them?

Thank you tobe. I ride it mainly during the day when I can pick my road well and avoid the pot holes. It is fast for a small bike my nethew has seen 120 mph on it. I have only seen 95 mph with my son behind me on the removable seat.

Here's hoping you're joking. A hundred bucks for a donut that could have went towards a Mustang seat.

Funny, I was able to tell within 0.5 seconds of sitting on the Suzuki C90 and Kawasaki 1600 Classic that the seat would have to be replaced immediately. When you have a large, dense piece of foam pressing hard against your tailbone forcing you to hump the gas tank, that's a sure sign.

They must have a deal with the aftermarket.

After a Taco Bell buffet?

I would say stick with the PAM idea. Be sure to get a good thick coating of it on both sides of the rotor, then go for a brisk ride on a winding mountain road.

Fascinating.

Or set them free. Whatever the case may be.
