Thanks mag7c. That's good to hear. I've always been partial to the looks of a lot of the Magna series... but the nice ones seem to hold their value so well they've always been just out of my range. If I do get it I'll probably be looking at the mod 9000white mentioned and a better seat.

look at the oil filter between the header pipes.if the filter mounting base has hoses running to the cylinder heads it has the oil mod.there are plenty of parts for them on e bay if you ever need any.there is another oil mod where you drill and tap into the oil galley in the bottom of the engine but most people go with the oil filter base model.the drill and tap mod is $100.00 cheaper but you have to remove the exhaust system which sucks.

One of those bikes has been around the world solo with nothing worse then a single loose ignition wire (I believe that was it). So I'd have a fair bit of faith in it.
There's an exhibit with the bike and a short bio of the lady who did it at the Reynolds Museum in Alberta right now.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Hey Cb360
I've seen many of your posts - your enthusiasm is refreshing.
As far as the new bike, I would wait for a larger bike. The advice from everyone I got before I bought a vstar 1100 was to buy a smaller bike. I am glad I bought a little larger otherwise I would be looking at a larger one now. At first it was big, but after a year it is just right. I can see now why people go even bigger. I would also wait until I could keep both bikes. You are going to miss that little bike. Think of all the posts you have read where the line was "I wish I still had that bike......"
If you spend a little more $ as you see on craigs and cycle trader you could pick up a larger newer than 85' cruiser, one you could take a 2up trip on for lets say 4k with bags, windshiled, sissybar, low miles, pipes etc. As an example for a couple k more you could could get a year old vstar 1100.
Recently I saw an 04 vstar silverado (winshield/bags) for 6k.
Take care - good luck on the house project.

Oh yeah if you do decide to sell the cb360 let me know - I am in s. seattle near renton - rjsmokov@hotmail.com. I learned on a cb before 74' and would love to have one for nostagic valve and as an around town runner

Hey - thanks for all the posts everybody. I'm heading out the door to take a look. It's about three hours away, but my wife's sister is in town so we're gonna use it as an excuse for a ride in the country as it's a nice sunny day.
Sevulturus - I might have to try to get up there and take a look.
Hey Doggyboy. I appreciate what you are saying about the larger bike and I have no doubt that I'll eventually get north of 1000ccs and love it. But I'm not in a rush. And I still live in a pretty urban environment and the fact is that I can rarely ride for more than a couple hours at the time and smaller bikes are more than enough for 90% of the riding I do. Money is a big part of this equation. If this bike wasn't selling for $900 I wouldn't even be looking at it. I'm a cheap son of a gun (not really, I just don't like financing luxury items) and so far I've only bought bikes I could sell for more than I pay for them. Checking all the different classifieds for bikes is kind of a hobby for me even when I'm not in the market. that's how you find the deals! Anyway - I'll remember on the 360 if we do sell it. It really is in fine shape and I'll hit you first before advertising if we decide to sell it but I hope it doesn't come to that.
Anyway, I'll let y'all know what happens. If it looks like I'll need to pour a bunch of money into this Magna, then I'll probably pass on it and keep riding the old cb360.
