thanks soo much for your help mydlyfkryzis
The alternator has a heavy epoxy coating. The oil doesn't hurt it at all unless you damage the epoxy.

They don't look the same. Similar, but not the same.
The Idle adjustment on the 360 is a cable connection that comes out to the right side of the bike.
There is no vacuum tubing connection between the 2 carbs. Also , no vacuum nipple.
The choke strap is similar, but is a big u-shaped, thin piece of flexible metal, not the same as that piece.
The carbs on a 360 mount to a large flat plate to connect them together.
The carbs in the picture are not from a CB360. They look to be off a bike with a vacuum operated petcock. The CB360 has no vacuum operated accessories. It is problably from a different brand, or a later model.
Look at the picture In the earlier post. You should be able to see the differences.

I see them on ebay about twice a month
those carbs you've got look a lot... squatter than stock (the stock butterflys are a full circle)
Mine's a CL (99% the same)

the nipples for the sync tool aren't on the rubber intakes (like most bikes), they're cast into the carbs

yeah they are linked. The bike has a push and a pull cable and as far as I can tell all it is (given the fact that the throttle plates do have a spring) is a redundant system built in for safety and/or reliability. If the push cable broke nothing would theoreticly happen as long as the plate spring was working (the grip would get loose though), if the pull cable broke on a ride you could still limp the bike home (although thruttle responce would suck) and if the throttle plates jammed in the open position you could yank the throttle forwardand unstick them.
It could also help give a snappier throttle. Having the same effect as a tighter spring would but without making the grip harder to turn.
