Thanks for the advice you've given me, I just needed to know because of the fact that on the way to college in the morning there are VERY long jams outside the schools and such. And when queing can take 20 minutes to get through. But if i filtered through i could get through in a litle under 5 minutes.
I only filter when its neccecary I dont do it for fun. And one more thing I need an answer to.
I'm going around the outside of the cars on the right and theres no more room to carry on going how do I get back in lane.
And when im filtering and the traffic is moving how do I get back in lane the safest. Answer these questions for me and I'll be very happy

Try a blinker, a little eye contact and maybe a wave...and hope the guy isn't a jerk.

True this - I ride along watching for openings - sometimes I have to drop back and sometimes try to fly ahead. I always look at the drivers and see if they notice me. Many times they will wave me in if I have run with my signal and traffic is heavy. Most cagers are cool, just some real jerks make it hard to not be nervous about them all.
