I got pulled over once at night after I had had my permit for 10 months. Couldn't get my license the year before because they only tested once a month and my bike was disassembled by the time mine came around.

My bike was impounded, but nothing like calling the parents for me, since I'm past that age. Got my license the next week though. I drove it a good 10,000 miles no that permit, so it's not like I coulnd't ride at night.

i took the MSF and i went to get my license last week, they said i have to wait 6 months from the date of the permit. (a bit over a month ago)
ouch, rough. Though it's probably for the best. I guess that's one law MA is fairly lax on. I had my permit for 2 months, took the MSF and got the class-m stamped on my liscence.
