Congrats on the new bike. The CX500 is a good choice. It sounds like it's in excellent running condition. Pretty rare for a used bike of that era. I'd say you struck gold.

I don't envy you right now, but I will in about 7 months. I love riding the backroads in western WY, MT and ID. Some of the best motorcyle roads around. The downside for me is I have to ride 1000 miles to get there :cry:

Watch those new tires, particularly on wet pavement. It usually takes about 100 miles of riding to get rid of the slippery coating on a new set of tires. Don't know if yours are past that point, but I'd keep the lean angles to a minimum until I was sure.

Now I just need to remove the ugly "O Ring" vetter fairing that is on it. Though I need to scrounge up a stock headlight assembly to put back on it.

Sincerely hope that bike makes you feel as good as I do when I ride, sounds like you got a goodie, keep the shiny side up and let us know when you get it on the road.
