I have an 05 GSXR600 with a Yoshimura TRS on it and it is probably about as loud as you would ever want. Pretty quiet at idle but as soon as you get any rpms at all its screaming.

Have you considered just cutting off the can then? It'll look cleaner without that fat bult hanging out there by the wheel.

Plus it'll remove any sound dampening effects.

As an added bonus it'll prevent backpressure, which is a good thing.

D&D is definately the loudest pipe you could get for a sportbike. I put the slip-on on my Bandit and it sounds mean (I like loud). It has a low growl at lower rpms but screams bloody murder at anything past 6k rpms. My friend has one on his Kat and the same goes for that, so I would imagine it would be the same for a gixxer.
