Cleaning carbs...

Seafoam works pretty well if you have a minor builup of gunk in the carbs. It's not a substitute for pulling and cleaning them, though. If the small passages in the carb are already severly clogged, Seafoam is not going to fix it.

This is 100% correct. Seafoam and its ilk can be very useful in keeping your carbs clean, but it is no substitute for taking those carbs apart and throwing them in a chemical dip!
