Its only going to be hot if you are riding wearing shorts - and wouldn't that be stupid!

i have draggin jeans. would that be enough to prevent my butt from being fried by seat left under the sun for several hrs?

just be a man. thats what i do in TX. im nto trying to say youre a wuss, or that im a hardass. i dont really pay attention to the heat on the seat. i just sit down and go. after about 1/4 mi the breeze from riding will cool you and the seta off.

thanks, it's just that sometimes we get heat waves here between 100-110. but i guess it's not such a big deal as im imagining it.

unless i forgot, i didn't read anything about seats getting too hot in hough's book so i guess it really isn't a big deal.

thanks again. :)

I don't know about your bike...but on mine you unlock the seat and it has a place to 'lock' the helmet in.

Then again...anyone with a decent pair of scissors could still make off with your helmet. Heh, and even though my bike has that, I don't use it

As far as the heat. Today my bike was parked in the sun for about 6 hours. It was a little warm when I sat on it, but after about 10 seconds it was down to comfortable temperature.

Lock your helmet on your bike or find a friendly place at the school where someoen will let you leave it - friendly janitor or the cafeteria or the bookstore? or take a little cable lock if you are worried about someone taking it off the bike and lock it to something in a high-traffic area where it's less likely to be stolen. Or you could carry it around - something tells me you won't last long doing that. I know I wouldn't. Unless I was just there for one class at the time.

As for the seat thing.... if a hot seat is bothering you just bungee cord a little shammy cloth or half an old beach towel on there and lay it on the seat when it's gonna sit in the sun for a long time.
