Chris, congratulations on the acquistion. I hear nothing but good things about the Ninja 250. Well ridden on a curvy road, I hear they'll dust off much larger bikes.
When and where are you taking the MSF? I showed a friend the Riders Ed of NJ website the other day, and was surprised to see all the March courses were already full!

Stark, I was looking at the msf in Edison too, but it is also around $200, so I plan on taking the dmv sponsored course in Sea Girt because it is free. It is farther away, but I still end up saving money. The deal with the dmv courses is you have to wait until a certain date to sign up for a class. I plan to take the msf course in july.

If you can save money for MSF save it, but if not then that is $200 well spent.

I didn't have a very good experience trying to register for the state course last year. They only do registration for one course date at a time. They open the switchboard at 8:30 am. Ten seconds later the phone line is busy. You call 20 times - always busy. In about 25 minutes they start running a recording that the date is now filled up, please wait for the next date.
I did this cycle a couple of times, gave up, and took the paid version with Riders Education of NJ at their Lakehurst site. It cost $225. It was worth it to be able to control when I was going to take the course. On the other hand, in 2004 my wife lucked into the state course on her first try. Just don't count on being able to get into any specific date for the state course.

Hmmm yea, I know how it works, and I bet it does fill up super quick. I have one or two dates in mind for the state safety course. If I'm not able to get through on the phone, I will take the one in Edison or Piscataway. I'm not going to skip the msf course, but it would be nice if I could get away without paying the $225.

HD offers a course also. They ARE pricey, but worth it.
