Frankie,
is this your first bike???? if this is your first bike forget about it!!! totally forget it right now!!!!! you sound a bit to eager for wheelies and stunting and if i lived close enough to you i would kick you in the head right now!!!! look for a nice little 250. Seriously if you havent ridden before/ have only a little time under your belt you will kill yourself (unless your name is vermillion) but if you read anything else around here or even post that topic everyone who reads it will say "NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And other than that what do you guys would think of this bike(GSX-R 1000 2001) ? Doe it offer good performance and possibilities( Like power wheelie or other stunting?)
If you do not know the answer to this question, I highly doubt you know much about bikes. I haven't even ridden yet, and I know that the gixxer is an incredibly powerful bike. Do yourself a favor and do not get a gixxer at all.

23,612 Miles? I've done more than that in the last year. On a tiny Bike.

I'm assuming you are a new rider. If you have a shifty round the posts forn the last month or so you'll notice that Vermillion has a new GSXR1000, you'll also notice that poretty much all of us have at one point or another pleaded with him to put the GSXR away and bang out a couple of thousand miles on a beater bike learning how to take a bike to its limits.

To be honest, I am pleasantly surprised he is still with us.

Just to give you an idea, most recommended beginner Bikes run from about 10bhp up to 50bhp. The GSXR, even a four year old one should produce 170bhp.

In practical terms it will wheelie in first, second and third if you mess up. The brakes will attempt to throw you over the front if you arent gentle with them and it will brake the speed limit in first.

I would strongly, strongly recommend you find something a little less hectic for your first ride and bang out a couple of thousand highly enjoyable miles before thinking of 'upgrading'.

Welcome and good luck.

Well said Kal.

I'm not one to warn people away from buying larger bikes for warning's sake, but there's a big diff between 1000cc cruisers and 1000cc supersports. That thing's one step away from being track ready, if it isn't already.

If you're worried about getting tired too quickly with a smaller bike, you'd be amazed at the technology and abilities of today's 5 & 600s.

Hi

I have already had a bike and i am riding since 2 years. But my first bike was not a Sport Bike..it was a Honda Magna 750.

Maybe you guys are right and i should buy a smaller one. But my fear is i will be getting used to it fast and wanting more power very soon after buying a 600 sport bike. So i cant afford buyin 2 bike in the same year if i get used to the power of a 600.

My mind is not as clear as it was..i will be serioulsy thinking about a 600 after all.

Frankie, there are probably less than 10% of the riders on the planet who can take a 600 sport bike to it's full limits. From your questions, I doubt you are one of them.
I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.

It sounds like your a non-native english speaker, that could be the cause of the mis-understanding.

If you are upgrading from a Magna 750, even getting a ZX-6R will be a big upgrade in power. A ZX-6R puts out 110hp at the back wheel. A ZX-10R(similiar to a GSX R-1000) puts out 170bhp.

You will be able to get alot out of a 600cc supersport, you will just need to rev it a little higher. If you do choose a liter bike, realize that even with 2 years riding experience it can easily get away from you if your not careful.
