Not a viable option for bike mounting. I've already looked into this and talked to Sony - the DVD Camcorders can't handle the vibration from the bike - you will either get a really bad recording that is incredibly choppy or it just won't record at all. DVD Camcorders need to be nice and stable, and preferably tripod mounted in order to function properly. The rep that I talked to (who also did video editing) actually recommended that I go with the MiniDV tape model or a solid state (memory card) model in order to get clean recordings. Tapes and memory cards won't skip like a DVD or CD (or hd potentially) will.

A1- XTREME ALUMINUM HELMET MOUNT

And to prove it's an all weather camera...
