I don't but previous yeas races are available on DvD.
The roads the TT are held on are to all purposes and effects a race track for the duration of the TT. It's just there aren't nice runoffs and crash barriers - instead there are drystone walls and telephone boxes.
Our Government objects to RTA's because it makes them look bad. Racing however... well everyone there knows the risks involved.
Besides, the whole reason that the TT was established is because the Isle of Mann sets its own laws, it is a part of the UK but in the same way as Jersey and Gernsey it is independant. Such a roadrace would never be sanctioned on the mainland.
Why do we celebrate the TT? Simply because to finish the TT in one piece and with your bike under you is an achievement. To do it in a good time makes you godlike.
Out of everyone I have known over the years I only have one friend who has done the TT course at speed, twice. The first time he was riding, the second he was on the back of a friends bike facing backwards with a camera so the lads could take a video home to their wives. No he isnt 'right' but we like him anyway.
