Tip for young players:
Get rid of all of your other keys and attach you bike key to a soft keychain only. Otherwise the area around your ignition switch will look like garbage in no time.

Yeah, I've got one or two little scuff marks on mine from my keys, I noticed it when I heard the keys rattling against the handlebars because of the vibrations. Needless to say I was really unimpressed even though you have to know to look for the patches to see them.

My bike key has never been on a chain. It's actually designed to be removed after the ignition is switched on.

I learned that lesson the hard way too. Of course that is how I learn most of my lessons.

What happens if you drop the key while riding or something? How do you turn it off?

The ignition switch can still move one click to the right (parking lights) and back or one click to the left (OFF) without the key. Any subsequent attempt to switch out of the OFF position requires key reinsertion.

That's actually pretty neat. Turn it on put away the key, you don't need to worry about leaving your keys there when you're done.

Suck though if you were reaching to turn on your lamps and hit a bump and knocked off the ignition while rolling...
