I was thinking when I read this - sometimes I slow down to 80.
Seriously though, I do about 10 over most of the time. If the other drivers on the freeway are doing a higher average speed, I will usually find a "rabbit" to follow. That means follow the fastest car but stay about 1/2 mile behind him and watch for brake lights. Best radar detector I ever used.
Just yesterday I was driving down to New Orleans, and I used a group of rabbits--3 cars doing about 85 or 90, all in a line. Somehow they missed a highway patrolman and he decided he would go after me instead of them...twice he flew by me at about 100 trying to get me but fortunately I drive a manual and did the old fourth-gear clutch brake trick before he could tag me on his detector (I just assume this because I didn't get pulled overe, heh). Just saying, if you do want to speed, rabbits are definitely the best way to go.

Simple.
If you are going to speed USE YOUR EYES AND YOUR BRAIN. Keep your attention on the road and the verges and anywhere a speed camera or radar crew might be lurking.
Staying alert is good practice for safe riding, anyway.
Have I just invented a justification for breaking the law? Hmmm! have to think about that.

Indeed. Pay attention.
I lost my licence for two months for petty $hit (bad registration, went through YELLOW light, lane violation and 3 tickets for 7-10 mph over the limit).
BUt I never ever got caught while i was "speeding". I've hit speeds up to 140 indicated on my old SV1000 on the highway...and I would almost always used rabbits.
Once on the highway, I was chasin my rabbit in my camery up to about 110 mph, and then he suddenly swerved into the middle lane and slowed down, expecting me to pass. But being smart I simply pulled in behind him and "slowed down" to like 90 to follow him. Then he turned on his lights...he was an undercover. He slowed down to 45, and I followed suit, simply slowing down to 45 and following him in the middle lane of the highway. I thought I was somehow F'ed, but then he turned off his lights and just drove away. I guess it was because I never passed him or was in front of him doing any "illegal acts"?
anyway, when I would speed I would get like a "terminator" vision. My eyes were constantly scanning and assessing things like
1)Roadway condition
2)Potential spots for cops to hide (especially the turnarounds typically marked by 'No U turn' signs 1/8 mile before them)
3) any immediate braking ahead
4)scanning literally every car I passed for clues of undercover cars (Cb antennas, blue license plates, tinted windows, Any Ford or Chevy car, black rims, lights in the back window/behind grills, etc)
Like I said, I've never actually been pulled over for really truly speeding, and I think largely because I followed those rules above.
