I'll buck the the trend... again.
I got a KBC VR-1 lid and I plug the vent holes inside the liner with foam earplugs to seal it up. Never get too hot, but many times, the vents got too cold.
But I'm pretty cold-blooded. Heavy manual labor in a 100*+ building, standing on 100,000lbs of 200* iron
might get a few beads to pop up on my forehead, but ussually, I'm bone dry and trying to avoid getting sprayed by the leakin' bastid next to me as he drips a gallon an hour onto my freshly buffed gasket surfaces.
Ventilation is the last feature I look for in helmet.

But I've been told I ain't quite normal....

I'll agree with those comments.
You want to cool down? Cool down your neck. Evaporation around your neck will significantly reduce the blood heading up to your head, as well as coming back down into your body. So something like an evap-o-donna would help out a lot more than a wee bit more airflow into your skid lid.

I have the Arai Astro -R and have a multitude of venting options with this lid. Top of helmet, the visor itself and two otions on the chin bar. Very important to me as we can ride in 40 deg C heat here. The Goose has the Arai Condor which has a central vent. This guy has the same helemt and bike.

Another HJC Owner...

I have an HJC Kast-14. The ventilation is pretty good. The original shield did not fog badly, but had to replace it and the new one sucks... Tried the Rain-X fog deterent, and it got worse!
The wife has a Scorpion (forget which one) and says it never fogs. Now, she never rides under 60 degrees or in the rain... The thing I don't like on her helmet is how hard it is to just look at it and see if the vents are opened or closed. My HJC makes it obvious.

I typically keep the vents on my helmet closed, but it never gets really hot up here. And if it does, I just go a little faster.

I've always had Shoei helmets and currently have an RF-1000. Ventilation is very good and I've never had a problem with getting enough cooling air flow even in the summers, which can reach 110F (43C) up here on a fairly regular basis.

The info so far has been great. Thanks very much guys for taking the time to respond. There is lots of info on what's what. I have been looking at the Shoei X-Eleven Norick TC-2 Replica Helmet , but I see there are many choices to considder. I see xm23 and his RF-1000 is happy with ventilation at 110F temps, WOW !!! Keeping cool in the ol brain bucket is important, keep the info comming guys. Thanks

If you're fine spending that much money this tip is kind of worthless but...
The fulmer AFD4 rocks hard. The vents work well but the way the helmet is designed you get alot of airflow with them closed as well... sucks about now but it's great when it's warm. I heard it also got a high score in that helmet safety test/controversy.
