I hit the speed limit on every road I drive... Once accelerating, and once braking... lol

Being a very accomplished compere and MC I can say that as far as the speed limits are concerned that they leave me very confused as to what the actual speed limit is as we have and are still experiencing major roadworks and upheaval due to the world cup and general road upliftment. It therefore stands to reason that the word honesty should be replaced with "to the best of my knowledge". If that is acceptable to you then to the best of my knowledge there are certainly times when I adhere to the posted speed limits, equally there are times when I do not, this is however subjective and is not to be taken literally as there appears to be confusion as per the above as to what is factual and what is not.

We trust that the answer satisfies your question and humbly ask if there is room in your government for me.

Thanks to the fine engineering staff at Suzuki, who have managed to equip the V-strom with a speedometer so accurate it can actually distinguish the Difference Between A Bike That Is Moving And One That Is Stationary........................ I have no frikkin' clue how fast I'm going!!

(it's off by at least 7mph if not more)

Hi Mr Stark

My sympathies. I once tried to calibrate my speedo against a series of speed warning signs that flash "slow down" when you exceed the thirty mph speed limit. As they all lit up at different speeds (according to my speedo), I concluded that speed is all relative anyway and therefore not worth bothering my head about. If the authorities can't be bothered to get it right, why should I. (Not sure how that would stand up as an argument in court, though. I remember something about "might being right" in instances like this.)

Anyway, when the government decide to go metric over here, they will finally reduce me to total incomprehension on this matter.

Sev wrote:I usually keep it within 10kmh now. Sometimes you have to go faster if a jackass is tailgaiting or you're trying to do a merge on the freeway and people are being dicks, but once you've gotten yourself safely into place, it's time to slow back down.

And you also need to take into account the fact your speedo is probably out by 2-10% (reading faster) so if i'm doing 110 in a 100 zone, and my speedo is out by 10% then maybe I'm only doing 99?
I think my speedo is the opposite.

Most people do 10Mph over the speed limit around by me. So when I do 65 (on my speedo) I still have people passing me on the left (and sometimes on the right *Sigh*) that's when I realized it's probably off.

The pic would've made a much stronger statement had it just been your V-Max. A V-Rod, especially with a tall windshield and a sissy bar just doesn't made the same kind of statement regarding speed as King Max does. 8)

I thought the vrod with 125 bhp was enough to make the cut. How's this...better? :cowboy:
