Now I'm going to take the car to Staples and see if I can't find a decent computer speaker set up. I'm sick of always having to wear headphones. The 5.1 was sacraficed to the HDTV gods.
The Creative Gigaworks T20 ($50 - 90) and T40 ($100+) are good speakers. I have the T20 and it gives me enough bass at lower volumes. Crank it up though and it'll feel almost like a bose 2.0 setup.

BestBuy has the insignia speaker set with subwoofers and it sounded pretty good when I sampled it for a week. It didn't last since I need one without a sub because I already have a 5.1 5300e from Logitech (imagine calling in airstrikes in COD4 with that sound system) and this was for my MacBook.

Yea team! I got the XS750F running today. It was hit and miss there for a minute then it started spinning up. Still have some electrical gremlins to chase down. I do love the sound of a triple pulling hard from 4K to 6K.

If I buy home audio speakers again they will most likely come from SVS.

Must resist buying speakers...... I could quite happily spend a small fortune with JBL or Tannoy

never heard of tannoy but I wont look at JBL for home speakers again.

with that said I started a dart frog terrarium. Just waiting for a Diamond bit hole-saw from glass-holes.com so I can drill a hole in the bottom pane of the 29g tank for a 1" bulkhead that will be used to drain the water.

I did this amazing route in the car over the weekend. All told, took me about 4 hours to do, including stops at A/E, B, and C on the map for a 15 minute cool down at each. I got stuck behind a string of car between Florida and North Adams though :frusty:. But the Petersburg Pass made up for it (between the two points marked on the map just after B.

That looks like a really fun route to do in your scooby! I have had an Impreza and an Outback wagon and really miss them. I may have to get one again someday.
