That vibrates a lot and doesn't work out well. Plus it's tough to tell what your bike is actually doing from that view. I don't think there's any good way to film yourself.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
Why don't you mount your camera exactly like in that picture? all you need is a long screw with the same threads as the tripod mount on your camera. Drill a hole in the rear fairing, put the screw in from underneath and secure it with a locknut + washers. Then just screw your camera on, and tighten up with another nut from underneath to keep it from comign off.

i don't have a real video camera.
what im using is a small pocket sized sony cybershot. great quality, but zero reliable mounting options. if only it had a jack to connect a bullet cam... my problems will solved.
Just buy some 3M dual lock. It's basically industrial strength velcro, it'll hold through most anything. You can stick a little to the bottem of your camera and then the opposite side to a couple of spots on your bike allowing for multiple mount points. It might even come in black or red meaning you wouldn't be able to see it on your bike.

industrial strength?
can it hold while accelerating hard, deccelearating hard and speeds above 120mph?
i have some left over velcro here but i don't think it's rated as indutrial strength or "dual lock"
anyway... i'll look into some other hardware stores for the 3M dual lock.
