Everytime I take my bike to a Suzuki mechanic to have the FI mapped he said it wasn't needed and he drains out my expensive synthethic oil from the engine and my differential and he refills it with that toxic Suzuki brand oil, then he installs new plugs that were never needed and he tells me its normal for all V Twin engines to backfire and smoke then he charges me $220 and the bike sill runs like a POS! I can't remap the fuel myself, I need the hand held programer that the Suzuki mechanic owns, on certain Yamaha bikes the FI can be programed by cutting 2 wires on the ecu connector and a display will light up on the speedometer face. I did purchace a PAIR valve bypass kit in the hope that will end the backfire problem, I didn't install it yet cause im going to have to tear down the whole front of the bike to install it, the front cyl port that needs blocked off, I can't get my hand in there, looks like Im going to have to remove the radiator, I can reach the one on the rear cyl, Once I install it I will let you other M50 owners know if it works and made a difference. BTW: I highly recommend the Pirelli MT66 as replacement tires for ur M50

Where do you get off calling a Sportster a woman's bike? That kind of bullsh*t has no place here at TMW.
I've always wondered about that, since 9 out of every 10 Sporties I see (including the one I saw this a.m.) are being ridden by guys!

The two women I know that ride are on a Honda Rebel 250 and a Harley Sportster 883. Both of them are too small for me, but engine-wise, even the Rebel is enough for me in-town... Although I do prefer my 805 ccs of power! lol

I hope you M50 owners are aware that brand spanking new 2007 Suzuki M50's are selling for $4995. That means ur used M50 has dropped in value, no dealer thats in his right mind is going to give you more than $3K on a trade in and nobody is going to buy ur used M50 when they can get a new one that cheap. I think its time all us M50 owners to come together in an agreement and come to grips with our thoughts and accept that we got ripped off buying the 05 and 06 models and its just a generic, low class, cheap, beginners bike. Come on guys!! look at all that plastic! everything is made from plastic, look at the cheap rear shoe brakes! look at that plastic cover over the gas tank!, look at those cheap molded wheels that are painted black! what about the window in the engine to check the oil level? thats cheap, look at the plastic licence plate holder, its made cheap, it feels cheap, it looks cheap and it rides and performs cheap!

Again, like I said before, it's not "generic". Generic means it's not a brand name.
Suzuki is a brand name, so it's not generic.
"Everything" is made "from" plastic? There are way more steel and aluminum parts than plastic ones, such as almost all of the engine, the frame, the forks, the handlebars, etc. So this means that "everything"
isn't made of plastic.
If it's not literally "everything, then don't say "everything".
When you speak like that, you sound like my ex wife.
And by the way, there are some modern plastics that are pretty strong and durable. Do some research before you talk bad about plastics.
Are plastics cheap, or are they affordable? If they made those plastic parts out of whatever metal you think they should be made of, the bike might be more expensive than what you could afford. I bet if you looked hard enough, you might even find a little plastic on a (gasp!) Harley.
And weren't you talking about getting a V-Strom, or something like that? As I recall, the V-Strom has alot of plastic.
And those aren't called shoe brakes, they are called drum brakes. Drum brakes have been around way longer than anyone on this site. They may not work as good as disc brakes, but they do work.
If your wheels are molded, then you need to take some bleach and water and clean the mold off.

You should introduce her to him, he desperately needs a date.

More than a little... my Road Glide has plastic saddlebags, fairing, signal light housings, signal lenses, side covers and a lower belt guard.
Anyway, you're wasting your time arguing with Moto... it's like mud wrestling with a pig - all that can come out of it is that you'll get dirty and the pig will enjoy it.

I know what you mean. I guess not only does he have "good looks", but he has the "brains" to back them up as well...
