Well, hows yall doin? (southern sounding isnt it?) anyways, I havent had much of a chance to do any posting or riding really, as with the warm weather Ive been going out to my cottage (holidays just ended as well. A whole week at the camp, cant go wrong!) and before anyone sais anything, I cant ride the bike to the camp, as its 80 Kms of gravel all the way (logging roads) if Id bought a dual sport maybe, but the tires on the Vulcan are not made for the gravel.

I bought myself some saddle bags about an hour ago and got them all hooked up and they look pretty sharp, I dont have my digital camera here at the house, so I cant post a pic of them on the bike. but they look pretty good!

also, bought a few accersories that arnt in yet... some chrome bits...

Well, a few milestones....

1 - took my first over nigth trip, up to the in laws. The wife has been up there for a few days, and I decided to go up that way after my shift on Thursday. I left about 8 PM, and have found out soemthing...I should have worn soem Long Underwear, I should have realized how cold it was going to get, since its been dipping down into the single digits(39 to 46 F for the yankees) and it cools down that quick at night...needless to say, I was a frosty man and had to stop a couple times at the truck stops to warm up and get a tea into me. made it up there though, and had a nice ride back today. Sunny and WARM

2- rolled over 1000 KMs, which isnt much to alot of people here I know (distance wise) but I havent had many chances to do much more then city driving. (no commuting yet)

3- got my shiney chrome bits...I'll install and take pics later!

thats it!

1,000km's? Now you gotta pay for that first service. It's an important one, so don't skip it.

I like your new nickname. Frosty

Well, I did a group ride today with the local GWRRA chapter. pretty fun, I think I'll join the club (costs about 5 bucks more for a non goldwing owner) there were 13 bikes (my Vulcan, an older 454 Vulcan, 2 Harleys, 2 Honda Shadows, 1 Maurader, and 5 Wings) and it was awsome, group rides are awsome, did a 60 KM with the whole group, and then myself and 3 wings split off and did the Cochrane loop (theres a map of that a few pages back) in the last 4 days though, I have put on the same milage as I had put on all last month, I am LOVIN this!!!

Group rides are very addicting! I wish I could go on them every weekend. The group I've hooked up with rides either Saturday or Sunday all summer long weather permitting.

I got my windshield installed, and Im not sure if I like it or not..... *chuckles* I think I'll take it off for around town, and put it back on for highway trips (it did really cut down the wind noise...)

The bike was in the shop for the windshield and they replaced the front brake caliper, as well as a service. And I think they did something to my Clutch cable, because it seems to not shift down as smoothly as it did earlier (by earlier, I mean on the way TO the shop today) *grumbles* I think I need to tighten the cable or soemthing..its kinda irritating.

Pics to follow as soon as I figure out where my wife hid the camera.

Oh one more thing...go to start the bike up to put it in the car port and I heard the distinctive POP of a fuse..... dag....

Ill deal with that tommorrow....

My windshield is more of a "bugshield". I like it just for that. Especially riding at night. I'll get home from work and it's covered with bug splatters. It's also kept a couple birds from hitting me in the chest already.

Good luck with the fuse and the clutch.
