Chain cleaning is my absolute most funnest, wonderfullest, nifty-keeno past time in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!!Shorts wrote:First work of the new year on the bike - chain cleaning. It wasn't bad, juts took a little time.
I use chain wax in a spray can. Never occurred to me to use gear oil (which I've got sitting around...)Shorts wrote:Used some 90w gear oil recommended by the manual and the bike is good to go
Given your situation, I would never walk the bike alongside, I'd always straddle-walk it. After my near-miss with my wife's Trophy in November, I always straddle-walk that bike. What's the issue with straddle-walking, strength, control, something else? Can you flat-foot your VTR?Shorts wrote:I'm still hesitant to be moving the bike around the garage when DH is not home. It's hard to walk the bike with only one hand, and still a little tough to do it by sitting on it. But I managed to get things done without dropping it. I kept the kick stand down, which was a real pill, but I kept thinking about to make sure it was fully extended when I put the bike down. More time out there I guess will help me walk it better, get my technique down.
