I'm having technical difficulties....probably caused by my crummy typing..

The person in the info centre gave a free local map and highlighted a couple of rural roads to get my to the winery without having to go back on the highway. So...after lunch...I rode via "Old Chemainus" road and then turned onto Richardson Trail....(paved)...I missed it the first time by because the sign post was barely visible.

Along Richardson Trail is a Tea Farm and Artisan. I left my bike parked at the top of their driveway because the driveway is all gravel. Although I can ride on gravel if I have to....I'd prefer not to.

I purchased some loose tea...and of course while in there, the rain started in heavy again. So...I had a cup of tea there while I waited for the rain to ease a bit.

This is the view from their tea room.

At one point I pulled over to give a glimpse of the road I was on....It's a bit dreary because of the threatening clouds...but it was dry for a little while.

There won't be any riding for me for a few days or several. My motorcycle has had a random issue of high revving. When I took the bike in several weeks ago for an oil change, I had them check the problem. The mechanic did an adjustment on the cable and said to see how it goes. If it didn't do the trick it might need a new servo motor. Anyway...it was ok for a while, but it started doing the high revving again.
When I bought the motorcycle, I also purchased an extended warranty. I've never used it yet. The service guy thought it might be a warranty problem.

If not, it has to be fixed anyway.

My friend Doc met me on his bike after work and rode with me to the motorcycle shop. I then became a passenger for the evening. I quite enjoyed just sitting back and watching the world go by.

We went to the movie called Jersey Boys and then he dropped me off at home. The movie was highly entertaining and worth seeing, by the way.

Since I will be bikeless for several days, it will give me a chance to remove the linings from both my helmets and wash them. They don't get washed as often as I'd like because of how long they take to dry.

With no excuses like going riding...I might even get a few overdue projects finished this weekend. It's amazing what can be put on the back burner when the weather is nice and you have a bike to ride.

My motorcycle is still at the shop...so no riding...the shop is waiting to hear back from Kawasaki Canada on a failure of the throttle body and servo motor. Anyway.....

Last night was the "super moon"....I went to White Rock with Doc so we could watch and photograph the moon rise...

Wow! It moves quick. As it rises, it looks huge, but once it gets to the sky, it's just a nice bright full moon.

This picture is as we were walking toward the pier. The moon was rising so fast, I had to stop a couple of times for a quick grab shot.

As you can see on the left, there are plenty of people walking about. There are several places around the lower mainland that are very popular and safe to walk around at night. White Rock by the beach is one of them. There are restaurants, pubs, ice cream shops and a beach....the boardwalk (concrete sidewalk) parallels the train tracks and beach and if you dodge around the slow walkers, it's a great place to go on a warm summer night.

The objective this night, though, was the moon and walking to the end of the pier.

In this picture below you can see a large white object in the distance...that is the Peace Arch. It is sitting on "no man's land". It is between the Canada and the USA border. The lights in the distance on the right are the Peace Arch border crossing. It goes to I-5 and is a short drive/ride to Bellingham and a couple of more hours to Seattle.

As the moon rose higher....(I did not enhance the colour)...yes, it was that beautiful.

Here is one more.....looking away from the moon to the sunset sky in the west. We had walked to the end of the pier where there is a marina. It was almost time to leave and was getting dark...hard to see the camera controls.

Yes, the sky really did look like that.

We often miss lunar opportunities because we tend to get a lot of clouds here on the coast. However this last week has been super clear.

Thanks for the :kicking:

Well.....here is a tale of woe...

My motorcycle has been in the shop for two weeks now. The shop people called Kawasaki Canada to verify the problem. There is indeed a faulty part. The part has arrived and the bike should be ready in a couple of more days.

That was the good news.

The bad news is how much it will cost me. The part is $700.00 and labour will be about three hours. So I'm looking at a $1,000.00 plus tax.

The good news is that I had purchased an extended warranty at the time of buying the bike. This repair would have been covered under warranty.

The bad news is that the motorcycle shop where I bought the bike never bothered to register the warranty with the company who provides the warranty. They have no record of me.

That means the motorcycle shop took my $900.00 and kept it. That motorcycle shop has now closed down.

I have vacation time coming up in a couple of weeks and I had planned to go on a road trip...but with the sudden expense of the repair, I'll have to stay home. I can do day trips from here and sleep at home at night.

I do have all the original paperwork, so I will call the warranty company....I don't know if it will help...but I won't know if I don't try.

Aside from this throttle issue, there have been no other problems with this motorcycle.

Sigh.....there's always something...

B2C,

That is indeed a tale of woe. Sometimes we can just not catch a break. I hope you can put this in your past and enjoy the rest of your riding season.

Safe Travels

So what does a person do when their motorcycle is in the shop and the weather is lousy? Bake and do photography. :D

I baked cookies to day to take to work tomorrow to share with my co-workers. I got my sewing repair pile done. And cropped a picture and resized for posting....

The colour is real...I just edited out the bad spots and a few stray leaves underneath.
