A good friend of mine rides a SuperT and he's just as pleased as punch with it, hard not to like such a capable bike. You plan to take it off road any?

There are many reasons to choose the SuperT over a GSA; dependability, capital cost, the much larger dealer network, ease of repairing the frame, but one of the bigger negatives is the lack of range and lower fuel economy. The GS is terrible for total cost of ownership, but I like the advanced safety technology, the long range, and the easing of waking the bike up from a dirt name. I remember just how hard it was to pick up my DL650A when she was taking a nap flat on her side.

In the end, I will likely choose the GSA for it greater capability in performing Iron Butt rides, but also for emotional reason. The smarter choice is likely to be the SuperT and anyone who would make that decision would certainly have no lack of justification. Perhaps Yama will do a long overdue update to the SuperT in the next few years.

What matters is that you're happy with the decision. The GS is definitely going to be the more premium choice. I'm just wary of anything not Big 4 after watching my friends struggle to keep their Euro bikes on the road.
