On friday I left work around 1pm, ran a few errands, then hit the road to Boston to meet up with Nalian. The trip according to google maps was 375 miles. I wanted to avoid having to ride through NYC in a friday evening, so I basically went northward, through the pocono's, east through new york state, connecticut, north into western mass, then into Boston.
About an hour into the trip I release my GPS wasnt charging. I mistakenly thought it was my outlet, but I later found out the cable for the GPS was just fried. I had not brought any maps because I was really only taking a few different roads to boston and I had them in memory. However there was some sections in PA that I couldnt remember. Luckily the GPS held out on its own battery long enough to get me to rt 84, which i'd be taking almost all the way to boston. I did stop and spend 45 minutes trying to troubleshoot the problem, but as i found out in a Walmart parking lot, the gps charger was fried, and now when i tried to plug it in after replacing the outlet, it would start to smoke! I decided it wasnt a good time to set my bike on fire, so I just threw the gps into the tank bag and jumped back on the road.
All in all, it took about 9 hours with stops and everything to get to Boston. I don't have any pics from that day because I was too busy trying to get out of dodge, fix my gps, or generally stay cool. It was in the low 90's and really muggy when I left.
I arrived in Medford Mass, just north of downtown Boston. I new Nalians house was not far from the highway, and I had the address, but I didnt know exactly how to get there. Luckily, I turned the gps back on and it had enough power to guide me to Nalians block, but it wasnt really clear on which house was her. The houses were really close together and it was dark. As I'm sitting there wondering where to park the bike Nalians appears and greats me, and tells me where to go.
It was kind of funny, because although Nalian and I had been talking over AIM for the past, I dunno, 9 months? We'd never met in person or even spoke on the phone. Gotta love the internet!
So, after meeting Veda, throwing all of my stuff on Nalians living room floor, taking a shower, it was time to go to bed. I was beat.

Now its Saturday. The plan was to go to walmart and try to get a new power outlet, then head up to New Hampshire to meet up with RideyourRide.
There was a lot of crap to be put on the bikes:

After futzing around town, trying to get some maps at AAA, stopping at a walmart (with no luck in fiding our part), we headed up the road to New Hampshire. We spent a bit of time fooling with the bags on the bikes, and we really didnt make good time, but since we wouldnt never really have a set schedule for this trip, it worked out.

PLANS ARE FOR FOOLS!!!
Finally we met up with RideYourRide who showed us his bike projects (VTR from Mad Max? CBR? ). Ride took us on some nice roads, and eventually we stopped for lunch:
That there is RideYourRide on his Ascot (with no fork oil I do believe
). He also has a VFR which he hopped on later in the day. There is Nalian and her blue Ninja 650r, and my red Bandit 12.

RideYourRide left us soon after lunch, and we headed north up rt 16 towards the White mountains, and the Kancamagus Highway.

The Kanca-highway (which i've still get to pronounce correctly) was a great road, as you can see here:

Just a warning, going through my pics i realized about 98% of them are of my bike. Yea, I like to travel around the country and take pics of my bike...what can I say.
Anyhoo, somewhere on the KangaMangaHengis Highway we came into a small town and saw this:

Weird eh?
In case you wanted to drop by and try to persuade the owner to sell, it was sitting outside this place:

We kept heading west, through New Hampshire, and eventually in Vermont where we stayed near Montpelier for the night. Here are the pics from that stretch:

That was it for day 2.
