VMax is a little different. That's a badass bike. I'm talking about the Harley copycats, which the VMax definitely isn't. Take a Harley Softail and a Honda Shadow side by side, and just look at the little things. Like I said, if you don't notice, then the differences are obviously not very important to you.

Vmax's are cool looking and hideous at the same time. They're just odd looking. Id rather have a triumph rocket iii personally.

I definitely get a lot of looks on my vmax. Most of them compliments, but I'm sure there are some wondering what the heck it is. I sat on a rocket and that was a tank! Not my style. But my Harley always starts conversation where ever I go. From "that's a Harley" to "one of these days I'm going to get one". It comes down to what ever you like! Some people think the vmax is ugly or the vrod is not a true Harley because of the water cooled engine. I didn't buy these bikes to impress anybody, I bought them because I enjoy riding them! I'm not sure which one is my favorite , so I'll just have to keep riding them both!

Hey I can't blame you there. People come up to me all the time and ask about my bike. Usually it's someone who used to bike and they're like "Oh I used to have a sportster back in the 70s. That's a nice looking bike." Makes me smile every time. I'm not trying to knock your bike at all don't mistake me on that.

Harley's aren't even the best engineered bike on the road. The deal is they aren't over engineered. There's just something raw and down to earth about a Harley. Plus the sound that it makes is so distinctive. Other companies put out vtwins and none of them sounds like a harley's vtwin.

I didn't take any offense to your comments. We all have our opinion. And my opinion Harleys are cool, but I don't understand the air cooled engines. I do agree with you that Harley's are not over engineered. Except for the vrod, they have had the same basic engine for the past few decades. Now I understand that this is the last year for the vrod, go figure that one. Harley makes a high tech bike, that's smooth as a silk, has optional ABS and they want to cut it! I guess Harley fans don't want an over engineered bike!

VROD comes in a wierd spot. It should compete with the Vmax and rocket III but it really doesn't. The air cooled engines are all part of the design, I've never heard of one failing though and overheating.

The Vrod is definitely the "black sheep" of the Harley line up. I guess you can tell that I have a certain taste when it comes to bikes. As far as overheating or failure, Harley is very reliable from what I hear. How about a picture of your ride?

They'll overheat but quite honestly it's rare, and only if you let it idle too long in the summertime.
Only catastrophic failure I've seen personally was a guy who had 80K miles on his. Was riding down the interstate and heard a big bang then a lot of little bangs. His front jug literally exploded.

I think the VROD would look alot better without the radiator infront of the engine. So in other words, if they were air cooled. Other than that they're very sexy. Radiator just seems out of place. Thanks for the comment on my bike yours looks awesome too.
