200 miles from Philadelphia to New Hope...??? :humm: You went via Baltimore??!!!!
Ha, no, we went due west first out of the city and rode some twisties in Chester County, before heading north east and eventually making our way to New Hope. By the time I got home (I actually live in Phoenixville), I'd put on 186 miles.

BTW, New Hope is highly overrated. Too many squids, too many Harley badass wannabees, too many uptight parking enforcement people, too many people in general. That, and getting there via lower Montgomery County is a pain.

As you can see it wasnt my choice to ride to New Hope, which is why I decided to ride some good roads first.

Agreed. I haven't been to New Hope on a motorcycle in 2 years, and am not likely to return.

Across the river is a nice ride - start in Lambertville, head north on Rt 29 (then Rt 619) through Stockton, Frenchtown, and Milford. Almost any of the side roads starting in those towns and running back away from the river is worth exploring.

"Hey man, you left your lights on in the parking lot"

How in the world did you do that? Hopefully the damage is just some dirt packed into the edges of things.

Wow.

It's been three months since I've posted in this blog last.

Well, what has changed since then, lets see:

- I bought a house finally. I settle on it November 15th. I'm very happy because it has plenty of room, is in good shape, has a garage, and a yard. To top it off one of my best friends just bought a house on the next block, so we'll be neighbors. Woohoo!

-since July 24th I've embarked on a different journey. I've been eating right, exercising, and trying to take better care of myself. As of today I've lost 46 pounds and I'm feeling really great about that. I have some more to go before I get to where I want to be, but I've made good progress so far. One of the reasons I've not been here as much is because i've been spending a lot of time updating my blog which pertains to my weight loss.

- I'm still riding the bike as much as possible. I've put roughly 12k on the bike since last fall. I recently got for my birthday a heated jacket liner from warm and safe, so I expect to keep riding into the cold weather. I do need to get new riding pants and winter jacket because my other stuff just doesnt fit anymore.

More info on the liner:
http://www.warmnsafe.com/heated_jacket_liner_specs.php

Aside from those thing's I've just been busy with work, and life. I still check TMW every few days, but I've taken a break from the daily refreshing of the site every 5 minutes. I'm still around though :)

Hope everyone here is doing well!

Congrats on your loss of weight

Anything to keep us riding is a good thing. Man I like your pictures and sorry to see the one with the wheels up on your ride to work. Glad to see that you are ok and still riding. :D

Damn near 6 months since my last post. Not cool.

What's going on you might ask?

Well, winter for one. I officially hate it. Yea, I know it's April 2nd and it's getting warmer. But I want complete warm with sunny skies NOW. I'm sick of getting one or the other. 65 degrees but rain. Sunny skies but cold air. I'm tired of it.

I havent really been riding much at all. There are a few reasons for that. One is that since purchasing a 140 year old house I've been spending all my spare time and cash working on it. I've been in a kitchen remodel since before Christmas. It's coming along, but there is still work to be done.

Secondly, none of my damn motorcycle clothing fits, like at all. I stopped losing weight about a month and a half ago, but I'm about 95 pounds lighter than I was when I bought my jacket and pants. I tried to wear it on a short ride last weekend but I feel rediculous in it. The good news there though is that I put everythign up on ebay last week and as soon as the payments come in I'm going to order new stuff. I'm just not sure what yet.

I've just not been motivated at all to ride my motorcycle lately, but I'm hoping some new threads and some warmer weather changes that. I can say that putting $50-65 into my Jeep in gas every 3 days is getting very old.

So much so in fact that I commute on my bicycle to work some days. That's right, I'm still on two wheels, but it's mainly on one of my bicycles as of late:

In fact I'm doing some work on my LWB recumbent that I'll be taking on a two week long riding/camping tour from Philly to Tennessee here in another two months:

Comfy looking eh?

So, I guess I really still don't have any motorcycle news to parlay, but I just felt compelled to check in and let people know I'm not dead. Someday soon maybe I'll jump back on that bike and do something interesting...until then, catch y'all later.
